Provincial Association
Annual General Meeting
Was held January 14, 2009, at the Kinsmen Centre. Vic Dudek was elected President for 2009.
New Executive
The new Association Executive was elected at the Annual General Meeting. Officers: Vic Dudek, President; Bill Mandeville and Ray Whitnall are Vice-Presidents, David Noel is Treasurer, Clarke Henry is Membership Chair and Gary Atkinson is Secretary. Directors will be appointed to various committees in future meetings.
New Leader to be Elected
Leader John Tory resigned after his By-election loss. A new leader will be selected by June 30, 2009.
Voting will occur in the ridings on Sunday, June 21 and Thursday, June 25, 2009.
In order to vote, one must be a member in good standing of the Ontario PC Party as of Thursday, May 14, 2009 @10 pm. In other words, locally, you must be a member of the Sarnia Lambton Provincial PC Association by the deadline. Please encourage those who want to have a vote to get their membership well before the deadline. Past experience tells us we will have former members who have let their memberships lapse expect to be able to renew at any time and vote - that is not possible. Also there will be folks who are members of the local federal (Pat Davidson's) riding association who think that somehow that membership allows them to vote provincially - that too is not possible.
Please do your best to help circulate the correct information.
It is possible to join the provincial party on line. However please encourage people wanting a membership to obtain one locally as this allows us to have a very up to date membership list without depending on Toronto to transfer info to us in a timely and accurate manner.
After voting across the province is completed on June 25th, results will be counted and announced on Saturday, June 27th as part of a 2-day "convention" in Markham.
